  • Description
  • The Lamarck's Angelfish is a stunning white and black angel that does remarkably well in a reef aquarium. Unlike most other angels, it also gets along with most other angelfish, although it can chase some smaller fish.

The Lamarck’s Angel is a white fish with black horizontal strips and spots on its tail and fins. The biggest difference between males and females are that the females have more pronounced stripes. The Lamarck’s Angelfish can reach sizes up to 9 inches, so they need to be kept in aquariums that are at least 125 gallons.

Lots of rock should be kept in an aquarium housing Lamarck’s Angels, since it will provide them ample places to hide if spooked and also algae for them to graze on all day. Their diet should also be supplemented with mysis shrimp, Spirulina and algae.

The Lamarck’s Angel is a perfect fit for those with moderate sized aquariums, who are looking for an angelfish to keep in their reef tank. Given the correct diet and tank, the Lamarck’s Angelfish can be a great addition to your tank.
