  • Description
  • The Green Filefish is an extremely rare and hardly ever seen filefish. Green Filefish have a mostly green body with brown markings and black spots.

Green Filefish reach a maximum adult size of around 5 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 90 gallons. Green Filefish are semi-aggressive fish and might be aggressive towards other filefish in smaller tanks. Green Filefish might nip at some corals and are not recommended for reef tanks.

Green Filefish will do best in tanks with lots of live rock and some substrate for them to find small inverts to pick on between feedings. Green Filefish are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods and nori or marine algae sheets should keep your Green Filefish healthy and happy.
