  • Description
  • Longnose Hawkfish is a very interesting and colorful hawkfish. The Longnose Hawkfish has a long red and white body with a very distinctive long slender nose.

Longnose Hawkfish reach a maximum size of around 5 inches and must be kept in a tank that is at least 29 gallons. Longnose Hawkfish are fairly peaceful fish, and should get along with most fish. Some aggression might be shown to other hawkfish species though. Longnose Hawkfish are considered mostly reef safe, but they can attack smaller fish and inverts, so please proceed with caution.

Longnose Hawkfish need a good amount of live rock to be present in the tank. They will spend most of the day perched on live rock checking out the tank. Longnose Hawkfish are mostly out in the open and very personable fish.

Longnose Hawkfish are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods to thrive. Longnose Hawkfish tend to do very well when feed foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, live feeder shrimp and high quality small chunks of fresh seafood.
