  • Description
  • Mudskippers are extremely interesting and unique fish. Mudskippers have a mostly tan body with various dark brown and black markings.

Mudskippers reach a maximum adult size of around 10 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 100 gallons in size. Mudskippers are semi-aggressive fish and might pose a threat to smaller fish and inverts.

Mudskippers are a type of goby, but differ greatly from their goby cousins. Mudskippers have the unique ability to "walk" on land and stay out of the water for extended periods of time. Mudskippers also really need more a brackish water environment to do well. Normal fish only and reef tanks will not suit a Mudskipper. Mudskippers should only be kept by advanced aquarists who have had experience with this unique species before due to their specialized habitat and environmental needs.

Mudskippers are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods like worms, insects, crustaceans, blood worms and crickets should keep your Mudskipper healthy and happy.
