  • Description
  • The Colored Parrotfish is a super colorful and hard to keep parrotfish. Colored Parrotfish have a mostly orange body with strong green, blue and yellow markings.

Colored Parrotfish reach a maximum size of around 20 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 180 gallons in size. Colored Parrotfish are semi-aggressive fish and might be aggressive to other parrotfish, wrasses or tusks. Colored Parrotfish rely mostly on hard corals for their nutrition, so they are a terrible choice for reef tanks.

Colored Parrotfish are extremely hard fish to keep given their large fish and specialized dietary needs. Only try to attempt to keep this species if you have kept them in the past or are an extremely advanced aquarist.

Colored Parrotfish are herbivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods. Colored Parrotfish are designed to eat coral and are responsible for the world's sand. Some Colored Parrotfish can be taught to accept pellet and flake foods, but it's rare.

Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any questions about the Colored Parrotfish and if they are the right fish for your tank.
